Slide Guitar Workshop

The Great River Guitar Show in Red Wing MN will be an exhibit and concert for the public to enjoy the craft and music of stringed instruments. There will be hand crafted acoustic and electric guitars, basses, amplifiers, banjos, mandolins, and ukuleles, from over 50 makers from the United States and Canada.

During the weekend, Jerry will be offering two guitar workshops as well as performing several demo concerts.

At 1:00 pm, Jerry will be teaching a workshop on slide guitar.

This guitar workshop is part of the Great River Guitar Show and is open to players of all ages and ability levels.

Do you want to play slide guitar but just don’t know where to start? Jerry Kosak will demystify the tunings, chords and techniques to help you unlock the hidden Robert Johnson within. If you already play slide guitar and want to take your playing to the next level, you will learn the patterns and licks used to create well-known tunes like Dust My Broom and Steel Guitar Rag. Application of these techniques will enable creation of your own blues and instrumentals.
